The convening of the emergency security council meeting was prompted by the abduction of university students from their off-campus accommodation in Sabo Gida village, located in the Bungudu Local Government Area.
According to a statement released by Sulaiman Bala Idris, the spokesperson for the Governor, the Emergency Security Council meeting was convened with the objective of expediting the release of all individuals who have been unlawfully abducted. Additionally, the meeting sought to address the persistent problem of insecurity, which has emerged as a significant concern for the administration, by seeking sustainable solutions.
The user stated that the Governor instructed the Deputy Governor, Mani Mallam Mummuni, to offer complete assistance to the security authorities in order to reinstate normalcy in the areas that have been impacted.
During the meeting, the security chiefs expressed their dedication to the restoration of calm in the State to the Deputy Governor. The Deputy Governor was informed with equal certainty that the army had effectively rescued six individuals who had been kidnapped.
The Security Chiefs provided additional assurance that the military forces have successfully neutralized a significant number of the kidnappers and are currently engaged in active pursuit to achieve the safe rescue of all individuals who have been taken captive.
Mani Mallam Mummuni emphasized the need for the leaders of the Security agencies to enhance the deployment of troops in areas prone to instability in order to enhance monitoring capabilities.
According to the Deputy Governor, there is an assurance to the residents of Zamfara that security personnel are diligently working towards resolving the ongoing situation.
