Osun APC and PDP argue on Gov. Adeleke's accomplishments
Ademola Adeleke, the governor of Osun State, has been charged with lying in the presence of God by the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The party said that Adeleke claimed credit for certain previous administration projects in a statement attributed to its chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, on Wednesday.

In the statement, Lawal claimed that the governor, who attended the 16th Harvest Anniversary and Thanksgiving Service on Sunday at the Love of Christ Generation Church, C & S, Victoria Island, Lagos, as a guest with former President Olusegun Obasanjo, freely engaged in reeling out some of the projects that are unknown to his administration and some that were completed by his predecessor, former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola.

The PDP governor, Adeleke, was gratuitously praised by the elder statesman, Obasanjo, for mixing dancing with active public service in a list of both fictitious and his predecessor's projects.

The figurehead governor's reckless deception that his ineffective and aimless government was constructing "super overhead bridges to ease connectivity" raised the level of concern.

"It is unfortunate that Adeleke allowed the euphoria of the praise bestowed upon him by the former President to overcome him, as Adeleke himself knows that he is a caricature of what the former President took him to be and that the only thing for which he deserves praise is dancing, not effective leadership.

Adeleke is guilty of OBT, getting under false pretense what he neither earned nor deserved, in a desperate attempt to score political points, according to Lawal, given the false impression he gave of himself in the temple of God.

In response, Sunday Bisi, the PDP chairman for the state, claimed that Adeleke's performance had turned into an APC nightmare for the state.

He also criticized the APC for attempting to minimize the governor's accomplishments in the state.

The Osun PDP chairman said in a statement that the APC's claims could not alter the fact of the government Adeleke's accomplishments.

"For Sooko Lawal, he would be remembered as a politician who was constantly at odds with the truth, regardless of how obvious it was.

He took his well-known propensity for distorting truth to the lowest level by openly contesting the accomplishments of Governor Adeleke over the past 10 months.

Sooko Lawal and the APC's refusal to give Governor Adeleke credit for completing the 10 km Osogbo-Ikirun dual carriage road is illogical, if not ludicrous. Contrary to Sooko Lawal's misinformation, Governor Adeleke's pragmatic leadership, which was duly acknowledged by the contractor managing the project, is what made the road what it is today. Without it, it might have suffered the same fate as many other projects that the Oyetola administration abandoned.

"While we sympathize with the APC for lacking the moral fiber and capability to effectively carry out its opposition role, we must nevertheless caution that it would be making a grave error to believe it can fool the people with lies and an irresponsible posture, which seems to define its strategy lately," Bisi said.
