Obasanjo is retorted by the Oyo Council of Obas, "We have no remorse supporting Tinubu."
Traditional leaders have stated that they have no regrets for supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the general elections of 2023 on the platform of the Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs.

This information was revealed on Tuesday by the traditional leaders.

According to iGONG, former president Olusegun Obasanjo ordered some of the traditional leaders present at the occasion to stand up and sit down on Friday in Iseyin, Oyo State.

According to information obtained by iGONG, the former president made the choice because some of the traditional leaders there had decided to vote for Tinubu instead of Mr. Peter Obi in the general elections of 2023.

The traditional leaders responded by saying they have no misgivings about backing Tinubu.

Oba Francis Olushola Alao, the Olugbon of Orile Igbon and the Deputy Chairman of the Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs, revealed this information in a statement made available to iGONG on Tuesday.

The statement from the traditional leader stressed that the Friday incident was an internal matter.

At the subsequent meeting of the Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs, he stressed that the situation would be carefully reviewed.

The statement reads: "True sons and daughters of Oduduwa in all sectors of society have expressed anger and varied reactions to the outburst of former president Chief Olusegun Obasanjo against traditional rulers present at the opening of the Iseyin Campus of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) on Friday, September 15.

"All of the involved royal fathers are aware of the hurt the incident has caused and value the appropriate responses. I want to say that the incident is an internal matter that will be thoroughly addressed at the Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs' upcoming meeting.

However, it should be mentioned that Oyo State's traditional leaders have no regrets about their support for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Governor Seyi Makinde during the most recent election and would continue to do so in the future.

"Monarchs in Oyo State have a very clear opinion on this. Any other information that conflicts with this should be ignored.
