NSCDC sends 3,000 personnel to the FCT on the 63rd anniversary of independence.
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has declared the mobilization of 3,000 people to ensure the security and safeguarding of individuals during Nigeria's 63rd anniversary of independence.


The Commandant of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Olusola Odumosu, issued a directive instructing staff to ensure the provision of security and protection for both civilians and vital infrastructures within the FCT.


According to his statement, the corps will guarantee a smooth and uninterrupted 63rd Independence Anniversary Celebration, free from any undesirable incidents, both during the celebration itself and in the subsequent period.


According to the Corps FCT Public Relations Officer, Comfort Okomanyi, Odumosu has instructed all key departments and units within the Command headquarters, Area Commands, and Divisional offices to maintain a strong security presence and visibility in the city center, satellite towns, and other suburbs of the FCT.


The speaker expressed a commitment to conducting regular patrols in various areas of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), with a particular focus on public spaces including as markets, parks, leisure centers, and houses of worship. The objective of these patrols is to deter any potential infiltration by unfriendly individuals or groups aiming to disrupt the peaceful nature of the upcoming celebration.


The Commandant also provided assurance to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, regarding the dedication of the NSCDC in addressing criminal activities within the FCT. This commitment aligns with the overarching goals and objectives of the current administration.


As to his statement, it has been mandated that all staff collaborate with sister security organizations in their job.
