Nigerian Armed Forces pledge to eradicate security issues - CDSThe Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, has reaffirmed the Nigerian Armed Forces' dedication to resolving the security issues currently faced by the nation.


Musa expressed this sentiment when paying his respects to the Emir of Zazau, Malam Ahmed ed Bamalli, on the evening of Friday in Zaria, located in the state of Kaduna.


The individual expressed confidence that the nation's security concerns will soon be resolved and requested prayers for the military's success.


Musa, joined by a group of high-ranking military officials, expressed condolences for the tragic loss of eight individuals who perished in a mosque collapse.


The Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS) expressed condolences on behalf of the Armed Forces and offered prayers for the peaceful rest of the souls of the individuals who perished in the unfortunate event.


He expressed, "I am currently in Kaduna to attend the Passing-out parade at the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna. However, I deemed it necessary to take a moment to extend my condolences during this visit."


I rely on your support and prayers as a paternal figure to both myself and the entire northern region, in order to achieve success in our diverse endeavors.


I have had multiple occasions of being present at this location. I was previously stationed here in Zaria as the Commandant of the Nigerian Army Depot, and currently hold the position of Chief of Defense Staff. I attribute my achievements to the grace of God.


According to a report by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), a tragic incident occurred on August 11th, resulting in the loss of eight lives and injury to 25 individuals. This unfortunate event took place when a piece of the Zaria Central Mosque, which has a history spanning 150 years, collapsed during a congregational prayer session.


In response, Bamalli conveyed appreciation for the visit and lauded President Bola Tinubu for deeming Gen. Musa deserving of the assignment.


Bamalli said that while the appointment was solely based on merit, the President deserves commendation from the whole population of Kaduna State for selecting a highly capable military commander from the region to fulfill this role.


The individual conveyed optimism over the resolution of security difficulties in certain regions of the nation under the current governmental administration.


The monarch expressed that both the council and the populace of the state will persist in offering prayers for the Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) and the government to achieve success.
