Dabiri-Erewa expressed her appreciation for the Nigerian Mission in Rome for diligently pursuing the aforementioned issue, as well as other situations involving Nigerian individuals.
The individual was sentenced to a prison term of 24 years on Wednesday for the act of causing the demise of a 39-year-old Nigerian male who was utilizing crutches while strolling in a coastal city called Marche in July of the year 2022.
On July 29, 2022, Alika Ogorchukwu experienced an act of physical aggression when he was walking during daytime hours. The assailant fatally assaulted Ogorchukwu by employing their own crutches, resulting in their demise. This act occurred in the presence of multiple witnesses, who refrained from intervening. Nevertheless, a portion of the spectators documented the assault by utilizing their mobile devices to capture films.
Filippo Ferlazzo was apprehended on July 30, 2022, on allegations of committing the act of homicide against Ogorchukwu and engaging in the theft of Ogorchukwu's mobile device. According to the Italian Police, it is their belief that Ferlazzo assaulted Ogorchukwu subsequent to the latter's request for Ferlazzo's girlfriend to procure a handkerchief.
The occurrence was reportedly observed to have transpired at 2 p.m. on Friday within the primary thoroughfare of Civitanova Marche, Italy. Ogorchukwu's lifeless body was discovered at the location by medical professionals providing emergency medical services.
