"Most popular Nigerian artists are cultists," says Mohbad. (Solomon Buchi)
Solomon Buchi, a well-known author and social media influencer, claims that the majority of significant Nigerian musicians are cultists.

Following the intense controversy surrounding the passing of the Nigerian musician Mohbad, who had previously been contracted to Marlian Records, Buchi made this assertion.

On Tuesday, September 12, 2023, Mohbad passed away in a contentious way.

Owner of Marlian Records Naira Marly and his associate Sam Larry drew harsh criticism on social media after a number of documents and videos showing the pair harassing the late singer mercilessly for quitting Marlian Records leaked online.

In a series of posts on his Instagram profile, Solomon Buchi responded to the video and the recent events, writing: "I've been beneath the pages of books researching about Mohbad, his music boss, Naira Marley, and other parties that were involved in his life till his untimely passing.

My conviction that the Nigerian music industry is a quagmire of cultism, gangsterism, evil politics, and appalling moral norms has been strengthened by this.

I only listened to a small portion of his songs, but when I did, I was struck by the sorrow in his voice, the sonorous and solemn tone, and the moving lyrics that frequently portrayed the struggle of existence.

His greatest sufferings and his desire to triumph over them were reflected in his music. It made me consider the rot, evil, and darkness that permeate the entertainment industry.

"There is almost nothing to be exemplary of Mohbad's CEO Naira Marley, who gained notoriety by subtly supporting fraud and other terrible vices. He is currently being held responsible for Mohbad's death due to credible and significant claims against him. Most of our kids listened to him and gave him appreciation up to Mohbad's passing.

The Nigerian music industry is, in general, a game of clandestine dealings, gang rivalries, and filthy power. Cultists make up the majority of popular Nigerian musicians. They are simple to recognize because to their music, attire, videos, jargon, and brotherhood slang. What do they do then? Of course, they don't keep the peace or kill mosquitoes—chaos reigns. , Mohbad.
