Mohbad: According to Seyi Law, record label owners shouldn't view an artist's departure as a death sentence.
Oluwaseyitan Aletile, better known by his stage name Seyi Law, is a well-known Nigerian comedian who has pleaded with the nation's record label owners to stop putting the lives and careers of signees who choose to leave their organizations in risk.

He claimed that some music industry professionals made the promise that artists who switched record companies would never become famous.

He also charged record company executives of pressuring their signees to lead illegal lives.

The comedic actor leveled the accusations in the wake of Mohbad, a former signee of Marlian Music, passing away unexpectedly on Tuesday, just over a year after their contentious breakup.

Seyi Law posted the following on his X handle: "In life, we win some and lose some. Owners of record labels, who are actually senior colleagues in the entertainment industry, must understand when to let go. It shouldn't be a death sentence to say, "I'm leaving." Make sure not to elevate yourself above someone whose gift you did not bestow.

Some of you have vowed that the abilities you lost will never be recognized. You block them from shows, radio, and television. Because you are little gods, you make the decisions. No one will beg you. Ok o.

"Anyone who can't smoke or drink isn't a guy enough in your gatherings. All over are drugs. The kids need to blend in. Cultism gives people with no business in entertainment influence over the lives of young people. No one has an o.

"I recall Ruggedman mentioning Naira Marley. In London, the attack on him was widely celebrated. We are now calling on Naira Marley to account. Police should do out their duties.

Don't kill another man in order to survive because everyone will die in some way. Your wealth cannot be used to purchase the life of another man.
