Man with mental illness killed in Awka by cult suspects

 On Sunday, in Awka, the capital of Anambra State, a mentally ill man was allegedly killed by individuals believed to be members of a cult.

According to an undisclosed source who provided this information to INFOGONG, the individual in question, who was widely recognized in the Zik Avenue region of Awka, was situated at his customary location within Dike Park when he was assaulted by the assailants.

The cultists utilized a significant quantity of ammunition in their attempt to harm him, however, their projectiles were unable to successfully breach his physical barrier.

They resorted to employing the act of stabbing as a means of causing harm to him, although all endeavors proved unsuccessful. The designated police officer promptly initiated a response, recovered the deceased body, and transferred it to a mortuary.

The confirmation of the man's mental state cannot be provided at this time. However, upon the arrival of the family to claim the deceased individual's body, it will be possible to determine the deceased man's mental well-being.

"At present, law enforcement authorities are collaborating with individuals who have witnessed the incident in order to facilitate the identification and apprehension of the individuals responsible," he stated.
