The 59-year-old artisan was charged with two counts of defilement-related offenses, according to a statement posted on the official X account of the Lagos State Domestic & Sexual Violence Agency, DSVA, on Wednesday.
Between 2008 and 2017, Chukwuma is alleged to have perpetrated the crimes along Agbeke Street by the Iyana-Era Bus Stop in Ijanikin, Lagos.
Olufunke Adegoke, the main prosecutor, claimed that soon after his wife passed away, Chukwuma started defiling his two kids.
The prosecution had sufficiently proven the charge of sexual assault against the defendant, according to the trial judge, Abiola Soladoye.
"The confession of the convict during cross-examination was corroborated as admissible evidence alongside the testimony of the prosecution witnesses.
"It makes no sense that the defendant had an incestuous relationship with his two daughters in 2008 after the passing of his wife.
"At the time, the oldest was nine years old.
"The defendant acknowledged his actions and expressed regret. This is also stated in his statement, which is listed as Exhibit A and was accepted.
The punishment is "The defendant is found guilty and he is hereby sentenced to life imprisonment on each of the two counts in the charge."
The name of Chukwuma will be entered into the Lagos State Sexual Offenders Register, the DSVA added.
