Makinde, the Ogun Customs Controller, is transferred, and Shuaib takes over.
Bamidele Makinde, the controller of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Ogun 1 Area Command, has been relocated, according to iGONG.

Makinde spent 17 months in charge of Ogun 1 Area Command before being transferred to the NCS headquarters in Abuja.

On Monday, he officially turned over control to a new Controller named Ahmadu Bello Shuaib.

In the final 17 months of his term, the Command apprehended commodities worth a total of N6.604 billion in duty payable value, Makinde revealed during the transfer ceremony conducted at the Idiroko border.

He listed a few of the confiscated commodities as 1,245 rounds of live ammunition, 655,400 liters of gasoline, and 73,989 bags of imported parboiled rice.

The departing Controller revealed that during his tenure, the Command made 1,479 seizures and earned N225,009,835.50 in income.

He stated that "a significant increase in revenue generation and an improved anti-smuggling performance" were observed during his 17-month stint.

With three months and a few days left in the year, Makinde said that, "Interestingly, we have generated the sum of N127,122,058.00, which is about 91 percent of the target, out of the revenue target of N136,532,168.22 set for the Command for the year 2023."

He urged crucial parties to work with the new Area Controller so that he might complete the mission successfully.

Makinde also wished Shuaib a prosperous term and congratulated him on his posting.

Speaking at the occasion, Shuaib committed to build on the accomplishments made by the Command under Makinde's leadership.

Additionally, he pledged to work hard to achieve major seizures and promote legal commerce within the Command's territorial jurisdiction.

"I am a team player, and my success depends on the full participation of all stakeholders. Nigeria must advance, and we must cooperate, he remarked.
