In a statement provided to DAILY POST, the command's spokesman, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, confirmed the arrest and named the individuals as Haruna Haruna, 29, and Amadu Nasiru, 33, both of Gujaba village in Ringim LGA.
The statement claims that on September 3 at or around 1 p.m., a technical officer from the Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO), Ringim Branch Office, reported that unidentified individuals had vandalized KEDCO service wires along the Ringim-Gidan Garke axis.
DSP Adam reported that the suspects who were found in possession of the aluminum wire were quickly taken into custody by a squad of police officers under the direction of the Divisional Police Officer.
According to reports, the suspects admitted that they had stolen the cables from Dahiru Isah's store in Tofa village, Gezawa LGA, Kano State.
According to reports, Dahiru Isah admitted during questioning that he had purchased the cables from the now-wanted Kulu Danjummai of Gujaba village and had kept them in his business until he realized they were missing.
According to a police spokesman, the investigation is still ongoing, and the main suspect is being sought out for arrest. If successful, they will then face charges in court.
