Jigawa Gov. Namadi tells JISIEC that the LG election should give political parties a level playing field.
Prior to the state's local government election, Governor Umar A. Namadi has urged the Jigawa State Independent Electoral Commission (JSIEC) to create a level playing field for all political groups.

This was stated in a letter re-appointing Auwalu Muhammad Harbo as Chairman of JISIEC, which iGONG was able to get.

According to a report, the State House of Assembly reviewed and verified the appointees before the governor gave his approval for the appointment of Harbo and three Commissioners to the Commission.

The three commissioners are Ibrahim Babangida, Auwalu Shehu Jahun, and Ibrahim Ahmed Sani.

The nominations are made on the basis of merit, skill, and personal integrity, according to the letter, which was signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Bala Ibrahim.

All appointments, according to the statement, are effective right away.

Elections for the local government are anticipated to take place in June 2024.
