Brad Friedel, a former goalkeeper for Tottenham Hotspur, asserted that after Mikel Arteta bought David Raya during the summer transfer window, Aaron Ramsdale will inevitably depart Arsenal at the end of the current campaign.

In victories over Everton and PSV Eindhoven, Arteta chose to start Raya, raising doubts about Ramsdale's future at Emirates.

Since his arrival in 2021, Ramsdale has been Arsenal's first-choice goalkeeper.

Raya had one year remaining on his deal when he was signed, and Friedel believed that from the beginning. "I thought from the second they signed him [Raya] they signed him to be the new no.1, I don't think you pay that much money for someone with one year left on their contract, I know he signed an extra contract and went on loan, but that was for other reasons," Friedel said to talkSPORT.
