The event was reported to the police by an individual named Muyiwa Akinranti, who is a truck driver.
As per the statement provided by Omolola Odutola, the official representative of the police in Ogun state, Akinranti reported to the authorities that the incident took place while he was operating his commercial vehicle, namely a truck bearing the registration number SYE 982XA.
The mishap transpired during his journey from Lusada towards Igbesa, specifically at the location known as Gasline.
According to the driver's account, as he was about to make a turn into Lusada from a designated turning lane, he observed a car heading from Igbesa towards Lusada. While waiting for this vehicle to pass, a motorcycle rider traveling at a high speed from Lusada collided with the left side of his truck in a reckless manner.
The individual expressed that he disembarked from his vehicle in order to evaluate the consequences of the crash, which regrettably led to severe harm being sustained by the three individuals present.
According to reports, the three individuals were expeditiously transported to St. Ann Hospital in Lusada. Upon arrival, the attending physician declared Joshua Zossu, a 35-year-old motorcycle taxi operator, deceased.
According to Odutola, it has been reported that the two individuals, namely Yusuf Yinka and Moses Stephen, are currently undergoing medical care and are showing signs of improvement.
According to our sources, the vehicle in question has been retrieved for additional examination, while the deceased individual's body has been given to their family subsequent to the submission of a legally binding affidavit to withdraw the case.
In the midst of the incident, Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu, expressed his condolences to the grieving family. Additionally, he emphasized the importance for drivers, bike riders, and other road users to adhere to safety protocols while navigating the roads.
