Governor of Kano dismisses KASCO MD and MinjibirTukur Dayyabu Minjibir, the managing director of Kano Agricultural Supply Company (KASCO), has been placed on administrative leave by Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf due to financial wrongdoing.


This was said in a statement provided to journalists on Wednesday and signed by Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the Governor's Chief Press Secretary.


According to the statement, the action is a part of the government's commitment to battling corruption in all its manifestations.


The statement claims that the "Governor directed the issuance of suspension in a letter dated September 12, 2023, conveyed by the Secretary to the Kano State Government, Abdullahi Baffa Bichi."


He claimed that the Managing Director had been demoted due to suspicions that he had improperly sold grains that belonged to the state government.


In the interim, Dayyabu was instructed to turn over control of the company's affairs to the most senior officer.
