Gov. Alia said this on Wednesday at a celebration of World Tourism Day 2023 in Makurdi.
He claimed that Benue is attempting to increase its tourism potential from its present state to an admirable standard in order to become a destination.
In addition to highlighting the numerous unique natural areas and venues where investors would never regret investing their money, he also highlighted government activities aimed at increasing tourism in the state.
In addition to Enemabia Warm Spring, Traditional Iron Smelting Furnaces, Makurdi Zoological Garden, River Benue Beach, Dajo Pottery, Ai-Okpe Pilgrimage Centre, and Agasha Confluence of Rivers Taraba/Katsina-Ala in Guma LGA, Alia lists these tourist attractions as worthwhile investments.
Akata Fishing and Cultural Festival in Katsina-Ala LG, Ikwe Holiday Resort/Wildlife in Gwer East LG, Mkar Hills in Gboko LG, Ngokur Hills in Kwande, and Ogege River Confluence are a few more.
Gov. Alia took advantage of the occasion to urge stakeholders and investors to support the growth of the state's tourist industry as a surefire method to generate jobs and further the state's development.
He also urged them to "respect nature and promote tourism by starting small with limited resources rather than delaying or waiting for the government."
"This is a sector for everyone, where big, medium, and small investors can participate to start, grow, and sustain their investments."
