Former commissioner advises Otti to look at all prior Abia administrations, not only the Ikpeazu administration
John Okiyi Kalu, a former Commissioner for Information in Abia State, has expressed criticism towards Governor Alex Otti's choice to limit the scope of the panel established to recover government assets and cash solely to the preceding administration led by Okezie Ikpeazu.

According to Okiyi, the individual who held the position of commissioner of information during Ikpeazu's administration, it is deemed inappropriate to confine the abia State Probe Panel's investigation into the recovery of government monies and properties just to the time spanning from 2015 to 2023.

He said that it is imperative to investigate the preceding administrations, in addition to Ikpeazu's, as well.

During an assessment of the 100 days in office of the Otti administration on Flo 94.9 FM, Umuahia, Okiyi made the following statements.

The individual observed that the failure of the current administration to acknowledge any of the accomplishments attributed to Ikpeazu was an erroneous approach. Furthermore, they emphasized the importance of ensuring that the continuing investigation does not devolve into a mechanism for unfairly targeting the preceding government.

Arguing that leadership can be viewed as a continuous process, Kalu emphasized that the Ikpeazu government made significant efforts in fulfilling its responsibilities towards the citizens of Abia State.

The individual additionally asserted that Otti's tenure of 100 days has not yielded significant outcomes in terms of performance, particularly when compared to the pledges made during his campaign.

The user posited an additional claim that the meetings of the Abia State Executive Council were being conducted at the private property of Otti in Isiala Ngwa, as opposed to the designated Government House in Umuahia.

As per the statements made by the former commissioner, it is recommended that the governor consider relocating to the Government House or, at the at least, conduct Executive Council meetings within the premises. This suggestion aims to discourage the practice of making significant state decisions within the governor's own residence.

Okiyi, emphasizing his willingness to critique the current Abia administration, asserted that it is the responsibility of opposition party members to act as vigilant overseers in the governance of the state.
