To prevent the mass burial of some corpses, the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Keffi, Nasarawa State, has given a two-week deadline for their retrieval.
The decision by the management of the medical center to issue the deadline is due to the fact that some of the corpses were brought in in 2021 and others in 2022, thereby exceeding the time limit of six months permitted by law, according to a statement signed by Esther Bature, Public Relations Officer of the medical center, on Friday.
In particular, people who lost a loved one within the time period mentioned were urged to investigate the hospital mortuary for probable identification and a claim.
It further stated that once the two-week limit passes, the medical center will be forced to bury the nine bodies in a mass grave.
