Olalekan, also known as Emir, was reportedly apprehended by members of the command's Anti-Kidnapping Unit.
Additionally, INFOGONG learned that he was moved to the Force Headquarters in Abuja right away following his arrest.
He was wanted by the Command as of July 2, 2022, for allegations of murder, cult membership, and armed robbery.
On January 9, 2023, the Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, named him to the state's Transport Disciplinary Committee.
According to a police source, he was detained a few days ago after hitting a guy with sharp instruments, such as a knife and machete, while the victim lay unconscious in an unnamed hospital in the state.
It was learned that the victim's family members informed the Inspector-General of Police about the incident, who then instructed the Anti-Kidnapping Unit to transport the victim to Abuja.
He was later detained again while Patrick Kehinde Longe, the state's commissioner of police, was given the go-ahead to send him to Abuja.
He drove in after being requested to go to the anti-kidnapping office in Osogbo to resolve the situation with his victim. Before the officers notified the Commissioner of Police that they had received a directive from the IGP to transport the suspect to Abuja, he had already been detained. He was driven to Abuja in a Hilux together with his vehicle, according to the source.
Following the inauguration of Governor Adeleke, five people were killed, including Oyewale Sherif, and one person, Olalekan Waheed, was burned alive. Olalekan had been implicated in both of these crimes.
During the state's general elections, he was also accused of organizing thugs to steal ballot boxes from local governments in Boripe, Osogbo, and Olorunda.
The Osun State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, or APC, petitioned the police authorities and raised an alarm over his criminal activities, which included killings and physical assaults on its members, both during and after the general elections.
Additionally, he was accused of taking part in the murders of more than five people during the just-completed Osun Osogbo festival in August.
He allegedly fled in Adeleke's convoy to avoid being apprehended by the police, according to eyewitnesses.
However, Yemisi Opalola, the Osun State Police Command's spokeswoman, refuses to comment on the situation.
