Dr. Olayemi Cardoso's nomination as governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, is now being reviewed by the Senate.

Four CBN Deputy Governor nominees, including Dr. Bala M. Bello, Mr. Philip Ikeazor, Mrs. Emem Nnana Usoro, and Mr. Muhammad Sani Abdullahi Dattijo, are also being vetted with Cardoso.

Cardoso informed senators that he was prepared to implement the 2023 Finance Act and address the nation's financial and other economic problems while replying to their inquiries.

According to iGONG, President Bola Tinubu had previously endorsed Cardoso's candidacy as the new Governor of the CBN, pending Senate confirmation.
