Benue Senator Zam tells constituents that President Tinubu would address the issue of insecurity
Chief Titus Zam, the Senator representing Benue North West Senatorial Zone and also serving as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Business and Rules, has provided reassurance to his constituents over President Bola Tinubu's commitment to addressing the issue of farmers-herders disputes across the nation.

During an interactive session with constituents from Gwer West Local Government Area in Makurdi, the capital of Benue State, the speaker revealed that Tinubu and the service chiefs have deployed security personnel to address the issue of insecurity, particularly in relation to farmers, with the aim of facilitating their safe return to their agricultural lands.

Zam, in his discourse, expounded upon the persistent occurrences of herdsmen attacks on the Ityoshin communities in Gwer West during the preceding political regime. He characterized certain instances of these attacks as having political motivations.

According to recent findings, it has been seen that a significant number of council wards in Gwer West, specifically 13 out of 15, have reportedly been taken over by individuals believed to be armed herders.

These individuals have allegedly engaged in grazing activities on agricultural fields, while also resorting to the destructive act of burning ablaze the residences of local inhabitants.

During the evaluation of the service chiefs, he brought to their attention the deteriorating security situation and they provided reassurances that, given sufficient time, the issue would be resolved.

The Makurdi-Naka-Adoka federal highway has had a complete collapse, resulting in the cessation of construction work by the contractor.

It has been reported that the newly appointed Minister of Works has been made aware of this issue and has taken it into consideration.

The individual characterized the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, as their leader and expressed their commitment to collaborating with him.

He expressed that Senator Akume played a pivotal role in his appointment as a senator, and their association has spanned over two decades. Consequently, he conveyed his unwavering loyalty to Senator Akume, stating that he cannot sever ties with him.
