In a recent statement, Professor Isaac Albert, a renowned public affairs pundit, offered advice to the prominent opposition parties of the nation, urging them to refrain from pursuing any additional legal challenges over the results of the presidential election held on February 25th.


According to Albert, during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ibadan, using this approach would yield superior outcomes and effectively mitigate the squandering of resources at the Supreme Court.

The affirmation of the election result, declaring President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the victor, was made by the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal (PEPT) on Wednesday.

He was victorious against Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Mr Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), securing the second and third spots, respectively.

According to Albert, a scholar specializing in Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Ibadan, the judges' conclusions unequivocally indicate that the opposition parties were decisively defeated.

Furthermore, the contention that the outcome of an election might be significantly influenced by the number of votes cast in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) was definitively addressed by a clear and unequivocal constitutional clarification.
