The warship is making its second stop in Nigeria as part of its mission to assist British allies and partners in West Africa in their fight against piracy, trafficking, and other illicit activities as part of its regional mission in West Africa.
According to the British High Commission's Senior Press and Public Affairs Officer, Ndidiamaka Eze, the visit would contribute to the delivery of capacity training and support marine security in the region. This information was provided by the British High Commission.
According to Eze, the main purpose of the warship's visit to Nigeria is to aid other countries in West Africa in developing their capabilities to combat criminal activities.
"This deployment demonstrates how a truly global Britain is stepping up on the world stage to tackle shared international security challenges," said Jonny Baxter, the British Deputy High Commissioner in Lagos.
The United Kingdom recognizes Nigeria as a vital and valuable defense partner in West Africa. Both of our nations are confronted with many of the same challenges, and we are eager to collaborate with Nigeria to eliminate these dangers and contribute to increased marine safety in the Gulf of Guinea.
