APC laments the passing of a renowned journalist from Zamfara to gunmen.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) chapter in Zamfara has expressed its condolences over the recent murder by gunmen of veteran journalist Hamisu Danjibga in the state.


The party called his murder depressing in a statement given to journalists in Gusau on Thursday by the state publicity secretary, Yusuf Idris.


According to NAN, Danjibga, the Voice of Nigeria (VON) State Correspondent, had been missing for three days until his body was discovered on Wednesday in a soakaway behind his home.


Idris added that the state party chairman, Alhaji Tukur Danfulani, expressed sympathy to the deceased's close relatives, the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), and other NUJ Correspondents Chapel members in the state over his passing.


The scribe continued, "He was dedicated, and he spent his entire life in serving humanity through the journalistic profession. He was a friend to everyone.


"Zamfara, Nigeria, and the journalism industry all suffer greatly from this.


We ask Allah to pardon his transgressions and give his family the strength to endure the loss.


Idris claimed that the state APC leadership has thus requested security agencies to look into the incident and apprehend those responsible.


In accordance with Islamic customs, the deceased's bones were later interred in Gusau, the capital of Zamfara, according to NAN.


The late Danjigba worked for Voice of Nigeria (NAN)'s Hausa Service as the Zamfara Correspondent till his terrible murder.
