On Saturday, August 12, a few Kano State citizens demonstrated against the ECOWAS's (the Economic Community of West African States) plan to use force to end the issue surrounding the Niger coup.
Recall that on Thursday, August 10, ECOWAS leaders met in Abuja and ordered their militaries to be prepared to restore democracy to the neighboring West African country.
The demonstrators stomped on this plan. They chanted as they marched around with various placards.
Nigeriens are not only our family but also our brothers. War against Niger is unjust and a plan by the forces of the West; Niger is ours, and we don't want war.
Along with the flags of Nigeria and Niger, the protestors were singing anti-war songs.
Some Nigerians have stated that if a war is started against the coup plotters in Niger, the citizens of some Northern states will suffer significantly.
Below is a video of the demonstrators.
