UEFA criticized for quiet on Spain's vice-president Luis Rubiales after FIFA punished him for 'kissing scandal'

UEFA has faced criticism from Ian Wright, Ada Hegerberg, and Casey Stoney for their perceived lack of response to the Luis Rubiales' kissing controversy.

The head of the Spanish Football Federation, who had faced public embarrassment, was subjected to a temporary suspension by FIFA during the weekend due to his refusal to step down following an incident where he kissed player Jenni Hermoso on the lips subsequent to Spain's victory in the Women's World Cup.

Rubiales, whose future will be the subject of deliberation at an upcoming extraordinary session of the Spanish Football Association on Monday, currently holds the position of UEFA vice-president and receives an annual remuneration of around £214,000 for his services in that capacity.

It is plausible that he may retain his position on UEFA's executive committee until the year 2027.

The individual holding the position of the Spanish football chief concurrently fulfills the role of chairman within UEFA's Club Licensing Committee, while simultaneously assuming the position of deputy chairman within their Marketing Advisory Committee.

The absence of UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin at the World Cup final between Spain and England in Sydney has not been accompanied by any formal statement from the organization at present.

However, it should be noted that Thierry Favre, the deputy director of national associations at UEFA, was present at the press conference held by Rubiales on Friday.

The recent suspension of Rubiales by FIFA has elicited criticism from former England and Arsenal striker Wright. In response to this news, Wright expressed his approval by tweeting, "Good." However, UEFA has remained silent on the matter. There is no commentary provided regarding the conduct of the Vice President.

The UEFA, whose president did not attend the Women's World Cup final in which both teams represented the area, is the subject of discussion.

These individuals are responsible for guiding the trajectory of women's football in the future. The individuals in question display a lack of concern or indifference.

Ada Hegerberg, a notable Norwegian football player, expressed her opinion regarding the statement delivered by the UEFA Vice-President, who was re-elected to the executive committee earlier this year. Hegerberg characterized the speech as being of a distressing nature.

If one fails to perceive the problem at hand, it can be inferred that they are complicit in its existence. I extend my sentiments to the individuals who are deserving of commemoration, as well as to those who have chosen to remain in their respective residences. The user expresses a sentiment of dissatisfaction or frustration.

The former Lionesses icon, Stoney, took to Twitter to share a concerning message on a missing individual. Has there been any visual or auditory contact with the official Twitter account of the Union of European Football Associations (@UEFA)? Both the athletes and the sport itself warrant improved conditions. It is imperative to act in accordance with ethical principles and make morally sound decisions.

Individuals possess a distinctive occasion to assert themselves and exhibit their principles to a global audience. What are the objects in question?

During a news conference held on Friday, Rubiales expressed his decision to retain his position as the head of the Spanish Football Association (FA) while strongly criticizing what he referred to as 'fake feminism' for causing significant damage to his reputation, which he characterized as a kind of social harm.

Rubiales incited significant public outcry when he engaged in a mouth-to-mouth kiss with Hermoso as she approached the stage to get her gold subsequent to Spain's 1-0 victory.

Additional footage has surfaced depicting Rubiales engaging in inappropriate behavior by groping his crotch in the presence of Queen Letizia of Spain and her 16-year-old daughter, Princess Infanta Sofia. Rubiales has expressed remorse for his actions and issued an apology.

Hermoso has received a legal threat from the Spanish football federation subsequent to her statement expressing non-consent towards the kiss and contesting Rubiales' account of the incident.

Rubiales asserted that Hermoso physically elevated him during the celebratory proceedings and mutually consented to a brief display of affection in the form of a kiss. Rubiales further asserted that the kiss he bestowed was akin to the affectionate gesture he would bestow onto one of his daughters.

The 46-year-old individual was subjected to a provisional suspension by FIFA, which encompasses all football-related activities at both national and international levels. Additionally, disciplinary proceedings have been initiated against him.

A total of 81 Spanish players, comprising the whole contingent of 23 athletes that participated in the Women's World Cup, have publicly declared their decision to abstain from representing their national team until such time as Rubiales is relieved of his current administrative role.
