The individuals apprehended in multiple states are identified as Peace Patrick Paul from Obot in Akara, Akwa Ibom; Mary Eunice residing in Aba, Abia; and Bella Uko located in Asaba, Delta.
During a press conference held at the police headquarters in Ikot Akpanabia, Uyo, on Wednesday, the Commissioner of Police for Akwa Ibom State, Olatoye Durosinmi, provided details regarding the apprehension of Paul, who was involved in deceiving Utibeabasi Monday Enang and subsequently abducting her two children, aged three and five, in May. The Commissioner further revealed that Paul sold the children to Eunice in Aba, who subsequently sold them to Uko in Asaba.
According to Durosinmi, the mother of the abducted children faced severe physical violence when she confronted the suspect and requested the return of her children, compelling her to escape in order to preserve her own life.
The Commissioner of Police also said that a female suspect, identified as Alayodi Paul Onyekwere from Abroma, Rivers State, was apprehended on charges of kidnapping the 11-year-old daughter of Emmanuel Macauley Daniel from Ikot Ikot Village in Obot Akara LGA.
According to his statement, the suspect said that she had been instructed by her grandmother to abduct the child, leading law enforcement agents to successfully retrieve the infant in Rivers State. The youngsters are present today and will through the process of reuniting with their respective families.
During the interview, Utibeabasi Enang, the mother of the two children, provided an account in which she described how the suspect lured her under false pretenses, promising to transport her to a medical facility in Ikot Abasi for treatment of her condition. However, the suspect thereafter attempted to harm her following the removal of her children to an undisclosed location.
According to the individual in question, subsequent to being transported to the medical facility in Ikot Abasi by Peace, a diagnosis of internal heat was rendered. Following this, the individual was accompanied by Peace to the residences of her various romantic partners, where they resided for a duration exceeding three weeks. Upon initiating my inquiry into the whereabouts of my children, she made a commitment to accompany me to the location in question.
During our journey, she requested the driver to make a brief stop at a bridge, indicating that it was necessary for us to traverse the bridge. While endeavoring to traverse the bridge, I was subjected to physical assault by a someone named Peace, who made an effort to forcibly propel me into the adjacent river. However, I valiantly resisted her aggression until a nearby resident intervened and came to my aid. The individual escorted me to his residence, where I availed myself of his telephone to initiate a call to request financial assistance, as my personal mobile device had been confiscated by Peace.
Upon my arrival to the village, I proceeded to inform the village chairman on the incident, who then relayed the details to the Yak Iyamma organization. I express profound gratitude to the divine being for the fortuitous outcome of locating my offspring amidst the circumstances that transpired.
Sunday Michael Ben, a paternal figure, was also publicly displayed, as he faced allegations of sexually assaulting his six-year-old daughter.
During the course of the interrogation, the individual in question stated that they had their daughter present within their residence. Furthermore, they claimed that on the aforementioned evening, they awakened to rectify a malfunctioning heater due to the presence of illumination. I did not make physical contact with her.
It is my contention that the individual in question, who was present within the confines of the residence, is responsible for the aforementioned action. I became aware in the morning that there were bloodstains present on her leg.
The victim provided an account wherein she experienced nocturnal physical contact, although was unable to vocalize or visually identify the individual responsible for the act.
The Commissioner of Police confirmed that the individuals involved would face legal charges in a court of law subsequent to the completion of the investigative process.
