The Delta State Police Command has officially reported the apprehension of more than 100 individuals suspected of engaging in same-sex relationships, who were allegedly participating in a same-sex wedding event held at a hotel within the state.


The state police made a public announcement on Facebook regarding the arrest, stating their intention to showcase the suspects in a parade in the near future.


The Delta State Command has apprehended more than one hundred individuals suspected of engaging in same-sex relationships during a gathering held at a hotel to commemorate a homosexual matrimonial event. The caption stated that we would soon commence a live broadcast on Facebook to publicly present the aforementioned individuals who are under suspicion.


It is important to note that after to the enactment of the anti-gay legislation in 2014, individuals identifying as gays have been subjected to apprehension and public display by security personnel within the nation.


On December 31, 2021, law enforcement authorities conducted a targeted operation to apprehend individuals engaged in same-sex relationships within an undisclosed establishment operating as a brothel in Isolo, Lagos.


In the year 2022, a group of 19 individuals in Kano were apprehended on the grounds of purportedly participating in a ceremony that was perceived to be a same-sex union.
