The commercial operations of the Lagos Blue Line Rail are scheduled to commence on September 4th.

The commencement of commercial operations for the Blue Line Rail in Lagos State has been officially declared by the government, scheduled to take place on Monday, September 4, 2023.

The Managing Director of the Lagos State Metropolitan Area Transport Authority, Mrs. Abimbola Akinajo, made the announcement at the Blue Rail Line Terminal located in Marina.

The anticipated occurrence involves the presence of Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos State, who is scheduled to assume the role of the initial passenger at precisely 9am at the Marina station. 

Commencing on Tuesday, September 5th, there will be a commencement of limited passenger operations during certain time intervals. Specifically, these activities will occur from 6:30am to 10am to accommodate the morning peak period, and from 4pm to 9:30pm to cater to the afternoon peak period. The initial phase of operations will consist of 12 trips over a duration of two weeks, followed by a subsequent rise to a daily total of 76 trips.
