Rapper Tory Lanez is being held in a county jail in Los Angeles because of fear of retaliation as he begins serving a 10-year term for killing Megan Thee Stallion.

As he begins serving a ten-year term for killing a former friend, Megan Thee Stallion, American rapper Tory Lanez is being detained in solitary confinement out of fear of attacks by other prisoners at LA's infamous County Jail.

Wardens are reportedly checking on the hip-hop artist every 30 minutes in the administrative segregation area where Danny Masterson and OJ Simpson were once confined.

When Lanez, actual name Daystar Peterson, 31, was sentenced last week for the 2020 gun attack that occurred after a pool party at Kylie Jenner's house, he begged Judge David Herriford to "give me some sort of alternative that is not prison."

But the rapper now spends 22 hours each day by himself in a cell in the dangerous and congested jail.

Since June 1, at least 12 people have passed away in Los Angeles County jails, including Joseph Hutchinson, who was discovered dead from stab wounds at Men's Central Jail on August 4.

In addition to being on suicide watch, Tory is only permitted to enter the jailhouse premises for three hours a week and is only permitted to shower every other day.
