Lionel Messi, the captain of Inter Miami, will miss three of his side's September games since he has been selected to play for his nation's national team in the World Cup qualifiers, which begin next week.

Tata Martino, the manager of Inter Miami, reaffirmed this.

Following Inter Miami's 2-0 victory over the New York Red Bulls on Saturday, Martino made a statement.

According to iGONG, Inter Miami's September opponents include LAFC, Sporting KC, Atlanta United, Toronto, Orlando City, and Houston Dynamo.

Following Inter Miami's victory over the New York Red Bulls, Martino told the press (through Favian Renkel): "Lionel Messi is going to miss at least 3 games, he will get called up for his national team."

Messi is almost certain to play in Argentina's September matches against Ecuador and Bolivia, followed by contests in October against Paraguay and Peru.
