California mass shooting leaves 4 dead

In a mass shooting on Wednesday night at a well-known biker bar in Trabuco Canyon in Orange County (in southern California), at least four people died and six were injured.

On Thursday, the information was released by law enforcement sources.

Around 7:30 p.m. (0230 GMT) on Wednesday, authorities flocked to Cook's Corner on Santiago Canyon Road.

The shooter was a retired Ventura County law enforcement officer, according to two people who talked on the record and asked to remain anonymous.

Five people may have died in the shooting, according to sources.

According to sources, the shooter was going after his divorced wife.

They added that it is unknown if the shooter followed her to the scene before starting to fire on the gathering.

According to the venue's web calendar, a five-piece Orange County rock band called M Street was due to play at the pub on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

Earlier on Wednesday night, the band uploaded a video on its Instagram page showing the setup of its instruments on a small stage inside the wood-paneled tavern, which appeared to be still empty.

In 1931, Earl Jack E.J. Cook, his son, founded a roadside hamburger stand.

After prohibition was lifted in 1933, he claimed, alcohol was added to the menu, and Cook's Corner was transformed into a full-fledged bar.

The pub opened its doors in 1946 when Cook purchased an old mess hall from the Santa Ana Army Air Base and moved it up El Toro Road.

The area was first discovered by motorcycle riders in the 1970s, and it has been a well-liked destination ever since.
