Ememobong, the information commissioner for Akwa Ibom, gets elected to the NIPR council.

Ini Ememobong, the Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Information, has been elected to the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations' (NIPR) governing council.


The Akwa Ibom State Commissioner received a total of 867 votes out of the 1,050 accredited voters to win a seat on the governing council.

At the conclusion of the elections, which were held after the NIPR's annual general meeting/conference with the theme "Leadership, Public Relations and Value Creation," Chief Casca Ogosu, the chairman of the electoral committee, declared the winners. He noted that this year's election was keenly contested and that the turnout was very impressive.

He nevertheless praised the winners while revealing that 28 individuals ran for the 17 positions in the council.

In order to leave the body better than they found it, he also advised them to use their abundance of expertise to add value to it.

"I congratulate all the winners of the NIPR elections for the various offices in 2023," he stated. I urge you to contribute your expertise to the development of NIPR. At first, 29 people expressed interest in running for office, however one withdrew down the line, leaving 28 candidates.

According to our correspondent, Dr. Sule Yay Sule received the most votes (868), during the voting that took place between Thursday and Friday morning.
