Baby found abandoned under a tree in Bauchi

In Shira Local Government Area of Bauchi State's Shira, a newborn baby girl was discovered abandoned under a tree close to a hospital. 

 

Auwal Maisalati Shira, an elementary school teacher, claims that the infant was abandoned on leaves under a tree near Ambara Hospital on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, about midday. 

 

The infant was placed on a fabric while being completely dressed. 

 

Mr. Auwal said that he brought the infant to the hospital's maternity unit along with the Shira LGA's social welfare officer.
