The six nations have agreed to join the organization in order to increase the scope of engagement, the BRICS leaders stated on Thursday.
At a press conference held during the 15th BRICS Summit, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa declared that the six nations would become members on January 1, 2024.
In establishing the BRICS collaboration, "We value the interests of other countries," Ramaphosa added.
Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates are the nations in question.
From August 22 to 24, BRICS leaders gathered in Johannesburg, South Africa, to discuss topics of mutual concern, such as expanding and deepening BRICS collaboration.
Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa make up the BRICS. (NAN)
