Busisiwe Ngubo, a 35-year-old expectant lady, was one of four women brutally murdered in separate instances throughout KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
On August 14, 2023, Ngubo—who was expecting twins—was discovered dead one kilometer from her home in the Ehlanzeni neighborhood of the local municipality of Ubuhlebezwe.
The due date for her twins was August 15, 2023, a Tuesday.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Nonhlanhla Khoza, the provincial social development MEC for KwaZulu-Natal, confirmed the event and stated that Ngubo left her home after getting a call from her police officer lover.
"It is alleged that she was strangled, and her body was dumped by the side of the road. The deceased was about to give birth to twins, which would have been a wonderful occasion unfortunately cut short, Khoza said.
According to reports, Ngubo left her home after getting a call from her boyfriend, a police officer. She had informed her family members about the plan, and they were aware that she intended to go to the hospital since she was about to give birth. The community is in shock over this crime's terrible nature.
Khoza gave the family her sincere sympathy.
During this difficult time, "our thoughts are with the grieving family and friends," she said.
Khoza has fervently urged law enforcement organizations to look into this heinous crime thoroughly and quickly.
"We urge that justice be vigorously pursued in this matter. The perpetrator of this horrific act must be quickly found, and the entire weight of the law must be applied to them, added Khoza.
The necessity of ending violence against women, particularly in close relationships, was emphasized by Khoza.
