The Adamawa Emergency Management Agency (ADSEMA) has officially verified that a minimum of five individuals have been carried away by floodwaters in various regions of the state.

Dr. Suleiman Muhammad, the Executive Secretary of ADSEMA, revealed this information during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Yola on Thursday.


According to Muhammad, a significant number of residential and commercial properties in Fufore, Yola South, and Mubi South Local Government Areas have been impacted by the flood.


The individual recommended that inhabitants of riverine settlements within the region exercise increased vigilance in light of the recent closing of the Lagdo dam in Cameroon.


According to the speaker, the organization recently had a stakeholders conference, during which it emphasized the importance of individuals residing in flood-prone neighborhoods to consider relocating to more secure locations.


According to Muhammad, the ongoing sensitization activities regarding the flood are being conducted throughout the 21 local government areas within the state.


It is recommended that individuals residing in regions susceptible to flooding comply with the guidance provided by experts. It is imperative for individuals to exercise a high degree of vigilance.


There is a likelihood of increased precipitation in the future, indicating that it is premature to conclude that the rainfall has ceased entirely. The individual emphasized the importance of maintaining a vigilant attitude towards safety.
